Before You Go

Note that SLA Funds will not be distributed until awardees have completed all the "Before You Go" Requirements.

• Confirm acceptance of the award by March 19, 2023 by completing the 2023 SLA Grant Award Confirmation Form.
   
• Register your travel in the Notre Dame International (NDI) travel registry. 
  Note that graduate and undergraduate students must have their travel registration approved by NDI before your grant funds can be disbursed. 
  • Additionally complete NDI's Travel Safety 101 Course. Information regarding the course and how to access it is available in the Travel Registry once you submit a travel registration. This is required for undergraduates and optional for graduate students.
     
• Take the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) assessment to assess your intercultural competency. After you accept your award, a link and login code to the IDI will be sent to you by the CSLC.
   
• Enroll and complete modules in the 2023 SLA Canvas course
   
• Participate in the SLA Grant CSLC Pre-Departure Session. This is an in person session which takes place in April. The exact date, time, and location will be communicated directly to those who accept their awards.
   
• Make all necessary arrangements for your travel, residence, and study in the country in accordance with your proposal for SLA Grant funding and your approval for sponsored travel.
  
  Remember, you are responsible for all immigration/visa, fiscal, legal, and logistical arrangements related to your SLA Grant activities.
