Suggested Programs

Applicants may propose any foreign language study abroad program that is rigorous, reputable, and which adheres to the criteria of the SLA grant.

Notre Dame's foreign language programs have compiled brief lists of recommended programs for those students who would like a starting point in their program research and selection process. Please contact the Faculty Advisor for your language when deciding which program you are proposing to attend.

Keep in mind that for the SLA grant, programs should be 6-8 weeks / 15-20 hours of foreign language instruction per week (90-120 hours total). Some of the listed programs have multiple curricular options. You must select a curriculum that totals 90-120 hours of language instruction.

The SLA Grant Program is not designed to provide academic course credit, thus not all of the following recommended programs are eligible for transfer credit. Please see details for more information.
